  1. "Get URL" BBEdit/EasyView Extension

  3. Version 1.3 of June 95

  5. This extension calls various Internet software to decode
  6. URL's.  Usable from BBEdit and Easy View.
  7.  
  8. Easy View 2.6 calls this extension on command-click.
  9.  
  10. **What's New in 1.3**
  11. * Compatible with Internet Config 1.1
  12. * No bookmark files on the desktop
  13. * Works with e-mail addresses
  14.  
  15. **How to Use**
  16. Place the extension into your "BBEdit Extensions" and/or
  17. "EV Extensions" folder.  You don't need to restart the 
  18. machine, this is not a system extension.

  20. **More Information**
  21. Version 1.3 makes use of Internet Config by Lewis & Quinn.
  22. Thus it recognizes the Helpers and Info-Mac mirrors you
  23. have set in the Internet Preferences.  It also accepts
  24. addresses of the form user@machine or /info-mac/dir/file;

  26. If "Internet Preferences" is not found, Get URL works the
  27. same way as Version 1.2 did.  
  28. Four types of URL are recognized in this mode:
  29. * ftp:
  30. * /info-mac/
  31. * gopher:
  32. * http:
  33. The first two go to Anarchie and the last two to MacWeb.

  35. Partial URL: If you need part of the URL, just select it 
  36. first.  Then choose "Get URL" menu item.  Command-click 
  37. will select the full URL.
